  • Help! TWA=Braids?

Ladies! I am this Friday will be my 5 month BC anniversary and I am in this weird space! I've been doing the wash and gos and finger coils, however I really want to do a more protective style. I was thinking of getting box braids or twists... I have a little more than 2 inches of hair, is that too short to catch?! Would the braids create too much tension?

I think you will be fine all you need is two inches of hair and as long as the braids are not real large it won't weigh your hair down.

Two inches is more than enough the African braiders can braid your eyebrows if you need it

This. Just took mine out and my hair is about your length. I had box braids.

Be careful. I had a bad experience on a couple of occasions with them. They braid EXTREMELY tight and it was costly. I paid $250 for long box braids. Won't happen again..

LMBO it's SOO true though!! I had my first experience with African braiders when I was stationed in Korea. There were a lot of African (like from Ghana and Nigeria) women there who could do all kinds of braids. I do feel like they did my braids too tight, but I'm sure if you ask them to not to braid so tight that they'll do that : )

African braiders are taught to braid clean tight braids, so unless you tell them to loosen up a bit, thats what you should be expecting.

Please make sure you tell them not to braid so tight. You don't want damage to your edges

I do recall the tightness my last go at being natural. I'll be sure to tell the to go light on my edges!
