  • Flaky scalp from braids?

    - I just installed yarn braids not too long ago, 3-4 days after installing the braids I already started noticing little white flakes near the roots of my hair. I've noticed this happens every time I braid my hair whether I use yarn braids or synthetic hair, in a week I start noticing little white flakes. EVEN if I wash and condition my hair prior to installing the braids, the flakes will still appear within a week. I never get this when I wear my hair out without any extensions.

I think when your hair is in this style, it might be irritating your scalp, or your scalp is just drying out faster? Possibly? I'm not sure, that's just a guess, but I think applying a scalp oil would help. My scalp likes tea tree oil for flakes and itchiness
