  • Blow Dry Challenge

When I first went natural 3.5 years ago, I was completely anti-heat (no flat irons, no blow dryers) but as I've become accustomed to my hair I realized that heat is not the worst thing in the world for naturals. It all depends on your unique hair type, texture, density, strength, etc. I suffer from excessive ssks and splits from trying to tackle those ssks. I have blow dried my hair a few times before, but I was never consistent in adding it to my regimen. I want to add blow drying to my regimen to keep my hair stretched so it can retain moisture which will aid in retaining length Once I get a new blow dryer with a concentrator, I will blow dry my hair using the tension method on low every 2 weeks or so. Currently I am BSL. Keeping up with the health of my hair for about 3 months, I will then note whether or not blow drying is helpful or detrimental to my hair. Any curlies interested in the infrequent use of heat tools for stretch and manageability?!
