Hi, this is my first time using this site but I love it. I have been transitioning for almost 6 months and the first month or two is the hardest. trust me. Bc you are used to something diff. YOu will go through a rough stage. I kept straightening my hair for a while but it refused to stay straight so then i got it braided for a while. Now i switch between straightening it, flexi rods, and wigs. You have to find what is right for you. Keep trying alternatives and dont be afraid to switch things up, hope this helped!

Sounds like u needa commit to ur natural hair. You needa commit to urself before u go off and do things that ure not even sure of if u wanna go back to perming.. find a way to commitment. then come back to the worrying about what u should do about transitioing

Talking Hi!

Hi Bree! (I hope you don't mind me calling you Bree). I'm newly transitioning as well, but I've been doing a lot of research and all 3 of my sisters, my God mother and several of my friends/church members are natural so I have a lot of help lol.

The most important thing, I'm learning, is that you must deep condition and keep your hair moisturized. I'm sorry I don't have any products to suggest. I'm still trying to find my own. My sister does have a homemade moisturizing lotion and conditioner that she uses. It works great and keeps her hair looking moisturized. I'll try to post that on here soon.

It's funny that you mentioned Carol's Daughter because I just discovered her transitioning hair care line and I plan on purchasing it myself.

I know it's a journey and can be quite daunting at times but have fun with it! Experiment! Treat your hair as if it's already 100% natural. There are some awesome YouTube channels with women who are natural giving advice on transitioning and styling. Don't worry it's going to be okay! You have a whole community of help. I'll leave some links below. Also I LOVE your Sengalese twists. They are so cute!

You are just sooo refreshing!!! Thanx for ur advice and of course u can call me Bree ! I was experimenting and trying not to freak out!! The only thing that I actually LIKE is when the deep conditioner is in my head! Like I wish I could style it with that bc no other kind of conditioner no leave-in makes my hair feel and look decent besides a dang dc! Now isn't that messed up!! So I got the twist to calm my soul while I calculate my thoughts on my next move to make sure it's my best move! Lol! Giiiirl these twist was a 9-5 ppl stop me while I'm out all the time and ask how long it took! 8 hours idk if I can do it again but ima have to if I'm still confused by the time it's time to take these out! Whoo I almost cried getting these not bc it was tight but bc of having to sit there forever! Lol anywhoo I'm not gonna perm my hair! If I do I will give everyone a notice before hand because encouraging words are sooo helpful! So thank you for letting me know that I'm not alone girl! Ttyl
