I have been transitioning for 11 months and found it very important to keep my hair moisturized. I only wash my hair once a week. I do not co-wash or anything in between. On my wash day, I shampoo my hair once but use three different types of conditioners throughout the process. I have seen a really big difference. I'm wearing a twist out that I re-twist maybe twice during the week using KKKT, Jane Carter Leave In, and sometimes Eco Gel. My hair has really responded to this regimen. HTH!

What type of shampoo and conditioner do you use

I've been transitioning for 14 months now. I prepoo my hair with oils weekly for about an hour. Sometimes I heat the oil, sometimes I don't. I shampoo my hair once a week with Shea moisture Moisture Retention shampoo (yellow label). I deep condition weekly also. Right now I use a mix of Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp and As I Am Hydration Elation. I'm just using the AIA until I use up what I have, but prefer the Oyin.

After I wash out the deep conditioner, I use a moisturizer (one of the Shea moisture ones -yellow, pink or green label). I follow that with a whipped Shea butter that I mixed my self with several oils to seal in the moisture.

I let my hair air dry, usually over night, and style the next day with Entwine Creme Jelly Styler. I usually do braid outs and flat twist outs, using perm rods on the ends to curl the relaxer ends.

Sorry it's so long, but I wanted to be thorough. Also, I wanted to say HANG IN THERE! It's very troubling when your hair gets to a stage where it changes up on you. I never thought I'd get thru months 7-8 lol. The summer was glorious bc my hair was responding and now with the whether change I have to adjust again. But for me, it's all worth it in the end and I take it all as a learning experience. Hope that helps

I think wearing the weave is part of the problem. You havent learned how to style or take care of your natural aka new growth yet. I assuming you are having your real hair corn row and the weaved is sewed to that. Leaving your hair in braids, corn rows for a long period of time "locks" the hair up making it hard to manage.

You are going to have to try wearing your hair in a non weave style to learn new natural hair if not you will not know what to do when you are completely natural.

Im 13 months post relaxer and to be honest I have no trouble with my hair. I have treated like its natural the moment my new growth grew in. My styles in the beginning were braid n curls and now my hair being 50% natural I wear twist n curl.

I'm 17 months post but I have been mini chopping. I had a dream last night that I cut the rest off. It might have been the cold meds but I'm ready to cut it being tired of the two textures and all. I might do it tonight.

I begin with Olive oil and Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Condish as a pre-poo and finger detangle. It depends how feel on how long I leave the mixture in. Next, I wash with HE HH shampoo. I co-wash with HE HH condish then deep condition with Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque. Many times, I leave this in overnight sleeping in a conditioning cap. After rinsing this out sometime the next day, I co-wash with Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner. I detangle again with a wide tooth comb and flat twist. In writing this out, it seems like a lot. However, it's working for my transitioning hair.

Do you mix the conditioners together or use them each seperately after washing your hair?
