Look to your kitchen then. Many women have used items in their kitchens as hair products. I know of two who have or had successful businesses with kitchen cosmetics. The woman who started The Body Shop and Carol's Daughter. Kitchen Cosmetalogists both of them. Hit up the local goodwill, thrift store and/or Dollar store. They have unopened products for low price. The womens' shelter also gets donations and might be able to help you out.

Cooking oil and crisco become very good sealers for sealing in moisture.
Ladies, Don't beat for this one, but diluted dishsoap makes an effective shampoo. Dilute it 5 to 6 parts water to 1 part liquid soap. Apply only to the scalp and rinse really well. Use a bit of cooking oil or crisco to seal in the moisture. Style and go. I have been there and used it when I had no other options. When I was little, we gleefully took bubble baths and washed our hair with dish soap.
Use mayonaise for a cheap, effective protein treatment if you need it.

Hope this helps.

I agree. Sometimes you gotta make something from nothing.

Dollar stores sell olive oil and hair product. Its not the best but.... You can add olive oil to the products you buy; shampoo, conditioner, gel grease and it can also do in a pinch.

Good luck with you hair and employment.

Check your local Freecycle. People are always getting rid of hair products.

Great Homade suggestion! I'm going to try some lol.

If you have a dollars store or a dollar tree in your area definately check out their hair section, You can find some good stuff! I usually get my V05 products from there

I'm in the same position right now. I get free samples from companies to use for my hair. I have a whole bag, and it will work for me until I get a job.

Great suggestion!! Some of the dollar stores sell VO5 for under a $1.I've seen them for like 79 cents.
