Default So what's your reason for going natural?

Here is one of my reasons. My hair was sooooo thick and healthy. Guess the relaxer really destroys hair :-(
I cut half of my hair off already so now I'm shoulder length. I plan bc'ing in December before the New Year

I am beautiful and so are you ❤

I was on a trip in Chicago and my hotel had an pool... I was worrying too much about my limp damaged relaxed hair to have fun and swim.. So I decided that night of missing out on fun to stop getting relaxers... I thought it was a super weird idea but little did I know there was a HUGE online natural hair community I didn't even know people went natural before that! 99% of black folks I saw had relaxed hair... So yeah thats my story on going natural

I'm on a medication that makes my hair come out and the relaxers were thinning my hair also so the combination of the 2 was just no longer a good idea. Since I cant stop my meds I chose to give up the relaxers

I'm doing it out of curiosity, just to see if I can, and also because I don't remember what my natural hair looks like. For me my hair actually grew longer on relaxers (probably because my hair was so unmanageable before that I used to handle it way too rough so it never grew as much). I realize I might back out but at least I want to give this a shot and not just give up before I start!

My cousin actually suggested (well really forced me) to go natural after I came to het house with 20 pounds of kinky hair for her to braid into my own hair :-) She actually said my own hair was long enough to twist. That's been over 8 years ago & I now love, love, love my natural! I will never do a relaxer again!

My hair was thinning from the relaxer and this Is even after waiting 3 mths in between, relaxed hair was becoming too expensive, I was jealous of BIG hair. I'm in nursing school, have 2 kids, and work full time. I needed at least one 1 thing in my life that was easy. Plus I wanted to give my daughter a positive healthy look at her natural hair 😊
