I agree. I have had a relaxer since I was 16. I have no clue what my natural hair is like!! (will be 30 this yr) I'm hoping I can stick with it. Either way I'm giving my hair a much needed break

I'm always jealous of big hair too lol

Your my motivation! My mom has been natural for 5 years and she loves her hair now more than ever! Hopefully I can get to that point too. Thanks for sharing!

Now this month I will b 2 years natural. And don't plan on goin back to relaxers

Yea the shedding for me is a problem too. I notice less shedding now even during my transition stage. You tube is the best isn't it ?!

During that time what did you do to your hair to keep it healthy??

I went natural in the first place because I wanted to be free of salons and didn't trust myself with chemicals....then I fell in love with my kinks.
I hear you. I haven't been to the salon since March. I don't miss her lol. Definitely learning how to take care of my hair on my own...the right way

October will be two years of me transitioning to be natural.

I'm soooo in love with my blow dryer. I gave up my flat iron for lent (I know I know lol) and haven't used it since. I'm buying a hooded dryer this weekend since I was told its safer for your hair than the blow dryer

I flat ironed every day with no protectant, never wrapped my hair, didn't moisturize properly, and I even shampooed and skipped the conditioner sometimes. One day I just thought there had to be a way to get my hair back looking the way it was when I was little and I realized all the damage, massive shedding and even headaches were due to relaxers and of course me not caring. I thought about maybe going natural but a girl with beautiful natural hair pushed me over the edge when she came to my job one day. I haven't looked back since and my hair is so healthy

Sounds good to me. I always admire other womens hair when I see them out. Trying to get my thick hair back!!!

I'm not sure about other people but the day after a relaxer I always got a headache. Now I never get any, so I'm pretty sure they caused them.
