New Transitioner Looking for Good Products

Post by ceaux on 7th March 2010, 3:44 am

I've recently decided to transition and I don't know what products to use. I've used Carol's Daughter products but I don't know if it's best. I'm transitioning with a sew-in.

What products do you all recommend?

I need a good Moisturizer & Deep Conditioner.

I was thinking about co washing with herbal essences hydralicious & I've already been using Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner; i love the smell Wink

Help me please, i don't know what to use Very Happy

I like Aussie Moist 3 minute miracle conditioner and aussie most regular conditioner. Giovanni products are also good...the shampoo doesn't have any sulfates. I also like oyinhandmade products.

I like to use Elucence condish and poo. They are very moisturizing for my hair. I've completed my transition but I still use both products.

I love Nadia Mist Spray (Shescentit) to spray on my hair underneath a sew-in.

I can honestly say I am not a fan of Carol's Daughter's hair products. Her sea salt scrubs and loc butter (for hubby) are the only two products I like from the line.

I use CD's products among others and have great results. I purchased the Black Vanilla kit and use the shampoo along with a teaspoon of baking soda once a month for clarification. I use the Healthy Hair Butter regularly to seal moisture and whenever I DC, I use the hair smoothie.

Less expensive lines to consider are: Herbal Essences conditioners, VO5 conditioners, Suave Naturals, Giovanni, Aussie Moist conditioner, and Aubrey Organics. You may also want to research lines specifically for curly textured hair such as: Mixed Chicks, Kinky Curly, Jane Carter, DevaCurl, and Curls are some favorites.

Let us know how these products turn out for your hair. Remember no two heads are alike and you have use what's best for your hair. HTH.

For moisturizing, I just found Cantu Shea Butter and it is excellent for keeping moisture throughout the day and seal with Jojoba oil. As for deep condish Herbal Essence Hello Hydration and Aubrey Organics White Camellia are awesome choices. Hope that helps!
