I got fed up with my scraggly relaxed ends and cut them off today
![]() So I'm 11 months post and officially completely natural I want to try a wash n go but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I've watch a few youtube vids but everyone seems to do them differently. Any tips for a first try? My hair is about 4 inches long in the back and a tad longer in the front. I think my hair is 4a/4b. |

hi my hairs 4a/4b i believe as well, i'm still learning and what i did on my one successful wash n go was do a pre poo (i just used aussie 3 min miracle really quick) then condition and rake the product through to define my curls, then on soaking wet hair did my leave in+styler+gel whatever you wanna use and then plopped my hair with a wet t shirt. you're going to have to play around and see what your hair likes the best and what gives you the best results but that should be a good base i hope this helps

Thanks a lot. I'll start with that. I'm nervous about it but I really want to try something new with my hair.

I recently big chopped as well. I use a water bottle to mist my hair in the mornings then I use coconut oil on it. It's gonna take some trial and error but it gets easier.

I have a question about wash and go too..
If you apply a product to define your curls (gel, styler, etc) and have to apply generously, do you re wash your hair the next day to remove build up? Sent from my SCH-I605 using CurlyNikki App

1. Wash and Condition your hair 2. Detangle with a COMB or Denman brush 3. Use a leave in conditioner (suggestion: Kinky Curly Knot Today) 4. Use a gel that can be reactivated with water 5. And.....Go! I have been natural for 4 years and have waist length hair. Believe me simple is better. OAN: Don't get caught up in trying to find the perfect product to "define your curls". Natural hair does not translate to curly hair and I don't think some people realize that.

I don't. I wash 1-2 times a week depending on the time I have and I don't have any issue with build up. But I use a lopoo or I do a baking soda rinse about 1-2 a month depending on my mood.

I use conditioner for my wash & go's. I use a moderate amount of conditioner to reduce white spots/flaking and crunchy hair. The crunch isn't that bad as with gel in my opinion. Finding the right conditioner to style your hair with, may take some work. Most naturals like Tresseme naturals, its cheap and an easy find. I use Shea Moisture's raw Shea butter conditioner. You can leave it in or rinse it out. Also affordable $9.99 if you get it from Target.
