me being the experimenting idiot I am, I tried a yogurt and banana deep condition. as I was applying it, I noticed some banana bits from not mashing it well and figured they'd wash right out, so I kept applying. WRONG! there are tons of banana bits in my hair and they are NOT coming out. I tried everything from rewashing to oiling it & combing out the bits and I just can't seem to get it all.

so, my mom is going to detangle my hair & braid it straight to the back like the good old days lol.. but pray for me because she's EXTREMELY heavy handed

Lol. Sorry you had to endure that. Some of the more experienced naturals on other threads say to use baby jarred bananas. They had that happen too! I hope you get it all out gurl

hey ladies! I was in a writing mood (I love poetry) and had severe writers block until now! this is a little something I wrote:

I never felt beautiful
until the creamy crack
touched my scalp.
There was no better feeling.
This was the beginning of my addiction,
and I was all of nine years old.

My fix oozed down my scalp,
straighted out my jagged edges,
created something beautiful,
got rid of my big, kinky, catastrophe,
replaced it with a straight, manageable "blessing".

It took me seven years
to overcome my addiction.
I realized that the crack was
only making me feel ugly.
I might as well have tattooed "FAKE" across my forehead
because that's how I felt.
Ironing my hair down to the point
where it might've melt.
Yes, me, I knelt down to the foot of society.
Yes, me, I let their belts create welts across my scalp.
Because MY beautiful wasn't THEIR beautiful.

Yes, it took me SEVEN years to overcome my addiction.
Seven years to break out of the cast that society has molded me into.
Seven years to realize that every kink in my hair belonged.
Every curve on my body belonged.
Every imperfection in my teeth belonged.

It took me seven years to overcome my addiction and I've been clean ever since.

Hey ladies! Tried the Paul Mitchell samples and they worked WONDERS for my hair. It gave my hair a nice, soft feel and it made my curls pop! Since it was a rainy day today, I put my hair into a puff.
