thanks forl the information about smooth as silk. I just bought a33.5 fl oz from TJ maxx for $12. I'm hoping I have great results. they did not have the conditioner so i plan to DT with Aubrey organics and leave in with devacare. If this is bad idea please let me know. I'm a newbie.

I still haven't found these big sizes at my Marshalls. The first time I went was right before Christmas and right after so I'm sure if they did have it people bought it up. I'll probably head back over there tomorrow to see if I can find it. I never go to TJMaxx but might as well head over there too.

I wouldn't use the Smooth as Silk for a leave in. It's great as a rinse out or deep conditioner but the protein tends to be too much for leaving it in. It may be bad for your hair in the long run. The Tea Tree Triple Treat works great as a leave in. TJ Maxx sometimes has the Giovanni Tea Tree and the Giovanni 50/50 big bottles too.

I leave in the 50/50 sometimes. You only need to use a little bit as a leave in. As your hair gets longer, the 50/50 works as a great detangler.

uhm....wish I had read this carefully before I used the Smooth as Silk as a leave in....can you say crunch city? My hair was like straw. :-(

I am laying off it for a while until I can restore moisture with Garnier Sleek and Shine for leave in topped of with olive oil and some africa's best ultimate oil. Hopefully my hair will be back to normal in a week or so.

I can't comment on the leave in, but I do think the smooth as silk shampoo is great. It leaves my hair feeling very moisturized. I hate you had that experience dry hair is a horrible thing.

I deep conditioned with Smooth as Silk last night and it worked wonders!

I co-washed with Hello Hydration, deep conditioned with the Smooth as Silk (sat under the dryer for 20min), rinsed, applied Knot today (as a leave in) then sealed with whipped shea butter. This is now my new weekly regimen. Love it!

My hair is VERY soft and feels very moisturized!

I'm trying to get out of using sulfate shampoos and I just bought Giovanni Smooth as Silk sulfate shampoo.

When
I added it to my hair I did not get that stripping feeling that you get
using sulfate shampoos at all and I felt safe to apply to all of my
hair instead of just my scalp. When I washed it out my hair definitely
felt clean with out feeling stripped of moisture.

Erica5417,
Does the 50/50 have protein? Apparently, I am highly sensitive to protein so the Smooth As Silk may not work for me. I can use Aubrey GPB with decent results but anything else with protein gives me problems.

No. The 50/50 doesn't have protein.

Wal-mart sells the Giovanni line. It wasn't in the hair section, I found it in the section where you would find facial scrubbs and such.

Ya know, I've only used this stuff as a detangler, I;ve never used it to DC. @NaturallyLovely I don't know about the Elasta QP, but I think I'll try everything else on the list and see how it goes. Thanks!

I love Smooth as Silk as a DC! It makes my hair so soft! It has been added my staple list.

Wow! I haven't used it as a DC yet, but I'm definitely going to try that out. Right now, I just use it to detangle in the shower.

Also, I love the Smooth as Silk Shampoo better than the Tea Tree Triple Treat. That one made my hair feel stripped and it was harder to detangle. I've gotta get a hold of these bigger bottles I keep hearin' about. My T.J. Maxx didn't have 'em around Xmas. Maybe time to check again [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
