Help! I have 2 daughters ages 4 and 21 months. I have no problem with retaining moisture with my oldest's hair. I think the problem is because of her hair care regimen. Since I'm scared to use anything other than baby shampoo I'm stuck with dry/clarified/crunchy hair. Also, I haven't conditioned it either because I'm scared it may get in her eyes when I rinse it out.

Shea Moisture makes baby products too. Is she allergic to the ingredients?

I have a three year old and I use what I use on my hair since she was about a year and a half. I wash her hair while she lays on the counter in the kitchen sink. Works great and nothing gets in her eyes. I shampoo about once a month and cowash about once a week. I use leave in conditioner and oils and butters to seal her hair. If you are afraid of using products try using natural things.

Thank guys! I hope I'm able to wash her hair in the kitchen sink soon. Once I get past this I can discontinue using baby shampoo.

I'm product junkie so I have plenty of good products but none of them are "tears free". It's now time for her to graduate from the baby style hair washing.

She is old enough to wash her hair at the sink. I never used baby shampoo past being in the hospital. Not to scare you but I read they didn't have great things inside of them. Sometimes when she was small, I would just rinse with water. Then I started using CD products around 3 months old cause the girl in the store said it was safe for kids. It worked fine for her and now I just use what I use. If you think she won't keep still just give her a toy or book to entertain her while you wash really quick.
