Question Please help me!!!

I have a 3 year old daughter and I can't seem to keep her hair moisturized. I have tried different products ranging from the kiddie products to the products that I use on my hair. She also getts SSK's all the time no matter what I do! Here is my current regimen: pre poo with a conditioner, evoo, and honey, wash with creme of nature ultra moisturizing shampoo for dry hair or SM retention shampoo, condition with aussie 3 minute miracle or shea moisture deep treatment mask, cantu shea butter as a leave in, castor oil to seal, and different creams. It looks good for a day and returns back to its normal dry looking state. I am open to any and all suggestions!!!!!

This happened to me with my daughter. I solved it by using oyin honey hemp to cowash her hair. If I want it super clean I will use Creme of nature argan oil sulfate free shampoo. Either way I use the honey hemp as a leave in and then put evoo in her hair. Put it in a few twists over night then when I comb her hair the next day I use olive oil GREASE. it keeps her hair moisturized' although, I have to re-moisturize her hair everyday that's fine cus I do mine everyday too. Just spray a little water and add oil or grease

You mean the coconut oil grease by blue magic? And where can I find the softsheen carson moisturizing lotion?

I think its by blue magic. Its white. And you can find softsheen carson product in the beauty supply for $8 Bigg bottle. Or $4 for smaller but good size bottle--that moisturizing finishing lotion is the truth lol my hair never holds anything like it does that

Hi. What's SSKs? It sounds like we may have the same issue, rather concern. My daughter is also 3, and moisture retention plus frizziness are my concerns. I literally just finished undoing a braided hairstyle I had it in to wash & redo... When I unbraided, I just used a slight spritz of plain water. I noticed each braid was soft! What I did when I styled it was Organix moroccan argan oil & shea moisture's shea butter curl enhancing smoothie. It does nothing for her curls actually so I use dabs of it like grease or hair creme. During the week I'll moisturize the braids & scalp w/ bonner bro's oil moisturizing lotion & spritz w/ olive oil. Today I got a coconut oil hair grease instead of coconut milk like I was thinking & 100% pure castor (not in that ethnic of an area, so no jamaican castor here) and will try it to see if this combo addresses dryness & frizzies 🙏. I'll let you know... Now off to style since the conditioning portions done.

Be blessed!

SSK-Single Strand Knots.Try using a spray moisturizer like Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier. It is a great moisturizer and detangler. It is available in CVS, Walmart, and Target.

Ssks... Oh ok.. I had to go back & re-read it in context because w/ your response, I was thinking it was a hairstyle. I never knew it had a specific name. Thanks.

@ original poster: her hair gets knotted when you leave it out or even when braided? Would you try modifying a bonnet to fit her to sleep at night? Or satin/silk sheets or pillowcase? More braided hairstyles if you dont already?

I really do like Organix moroccan oil on my daughter's hair. Since that's half way finished, I recently got castor oil & a coconut oil hair grease. When her hair is damp, I appy the oil & grease & braid. I'll spritz the unbraided hair w/ plain water as it dries & moisturize as I style. During the week, I oil & moisturize her scalp & braids. Hope something's been working for you. Im still giving consideration to a curl activator & on the hunt for a good to great leave-in (thats not so costly).
