Default Dry, dry, dry hair -----help please!!!!!

My 1 year old, 21mos. has very dry hair that doesn't seem to hold moisture for more than a day. Currently I'm using It's a Curl hair products...the shampoo, conditioner, & leave in conditioner. I'm also use extra virgin olive oil on her scalp every other day.

But retaining moisture is a huge problem.

Any suggestions of a good moisturizing shampoo or conditioner that helps to retain moisture. Or any suggestions for a product that I can use every day as a moisturizer for my daughter's hair.

Something simple that I can buy from a hair store and not anything too complicated.

Thanks for your help.

Check the leave-in, some of them, even the ones for children have protein. That can make hair hard, dry and crunchy if the hair already has enough. Just do diluted shampoo, conditioner and make sure to rinse all product from her hair and scalp with warm/cool (not cold) water. Use the olive oil as normal and forget about the leave in conditioner. Make to use the olive oil on wet or damp hair. On dry hair, it doesn't do much but sit.

I had this problem with my daughters hair. My grandma always was saying to me how dry her hair was..and it wasn't nothing I could doto help! Everything I did to it didn't work. It was so dry! I used to use evoo and it didn't help! I stop shampooing that often, her hair gets rinsed (( not by choice)) everytime she takes a bath, and I use conditioner. The conditioner I use to co wash her hair is by my DNA. So is the shampoo. I spray her hair with water (( watch out they love to grab the bottle and spray you!!)) Then I either apply kimmaytube leave in, or I spray with the my DNA leave in and then some castor oil. Sometimes I skip the leave ins all together and just do water/avj and castor oil! Now she has really soft hair! HTH!

Thanks ladies.

On Saturday I washed my daughter's hair. I did everything I usually do (shampoo, conditioner, olive oil) except I left out the leave in conditioner & used Just for Me moisturizer. By Sunday her hair was not dry looking or didn't feel dry. So I'll see how the week goes. So far so good.
