I think any age your child has enough hair for the Style is the right time. My daughter was very young when she got her hair in twists. So many creative styles for all ages.

My little girl is 4..most times she wears her hair in twists just because it's easy and she likes to have her hair "down" (as she says...lol!). I just wish I could braid and twist to the scalp. Here are a few photos of how I style her hair...in twists...twist out and ponytails (usually after wash day)
Love the styles on the little cuties in this thread, btw!
