So Last night I did my first flexi rod set. It didn't come out so great, but it is a hell of a lot better than it could have been for my first time. So when I asked the the dude that I live with what he thought about it and his reply was that it looked "different," then when pressed more admitted he didn't like it I wasn't too thrilled. When I come to work and my mom/boss corners me and says, "just let me throw some relaxer in it" which was replied with an eye roll that doesn't make me feel any better. When I go to the Curlynikki website to the article titled "How Far Have You Come in Your Natural Hair Journey" and show her that is how long I want my hair she replied with "I've never seen anyone with hair that long that does have dreads, like that girl from yesterday," the woman she is referring to is Chescalocs who's youtube I was showing her yesterday. She then says, "She probably has been relaxed since she was a kid." "Not necessarily, the lady with the dreads has only been growing hers for 7 years." "You can't believe everything you see online" then continued to try and convince me that these women were probably wearing extensions. My response to that? "Just like how you can't believe every stylist that says relaxing your hair is good for it." I love how she is trying make it seem as how the community is full of fakes and discourage me from what I am trying to do.

Time is going by so slow... Im really anxious to have my body back :-(
As much as I love the little kicks, flutters and jabs, the inability to walk like a normal human, the constant fatigue and overall funk are leaving me flustered...

I remember reading about you and your mom before. It seems like some people won't believe anything even though the truth is right there in their face. I'm still working on my family to have them see that healthy hair is good hair. Have you tried finding somewhere else to work?

I haven't looked but I do have a spoken deadline for when I'm calling it quits. The deadline is approaching very quickly.

I'm also done with guys who have shirtless pics in their online dating profiles when there's 1. no reason to be shirtless (no beach or pool in sight) and 2. They've made it their mission to steer clear of weight machines and vegetables.
