Hey Naturals,

I am a teen natural and loving it but just as anyone I have those OMG days where I want to quit but NEVER WIll.

I just wanted to know what kind of negative comments or people you have come in contact with about you natural hair.

My dad has really been making me upset because he thinks my hair is NATURALLY straight and things my hair is ugly and that I need to change my hair to what it is. He thinks I am trying to be like everyone else and force my hair to be kinky/curly. My hair is a mixture of 4A and 3C. Man I always want to SNAP on him sooooo bad because I have explained this to him before and he just says I AM YOUR DAD i know what your hair was when you were born. ILLITERATE IS what I call him..

Why would fun be an insult? Figuring out my hair is fun.

Also, what does your boss' race have to do with the comment made? Would it be any different if your boss were another race?

When i get my nails done the Asians LOVE my hair ahaha , i feel like Beyonce in there !
They say its fun . Psh , i think my hair is fun .
Except when braidouts faillll.... Thats not fun at all

If someone, anyone, said my hair looks FUN with a sarcastic tone or laughing at me, I would probably be annoyed because the person is really trying to insult me.

Nothing really offends me when it comes to my hair.. lol.. I decided long ago to remove power from negativity then its just dead words....When people ask "do you have a texturizer" or "how you get your hair to do that" it no way offends me. For years I did not know my hair could look like it does and it grew out of my head for over 30 years, lol. Since being natural only one person has said they don't like women to wear their hair in its natural state.

Haha idk how your dad thinks your hair is naturally straight. I don't know any black person who's hair is naturally straight like completely straight. You need to show him some naturals or show him the movie good hair

i didnt feel it was the right thing to say, honestly. "oh! your hair looks.....fun" instead of nice, cute, pretty, etc. i felt like she couldn't think of anything nice to say so she said fun.

and race has to do with everything. at all times. i don't want it to be, but it just is!

Ignore the comments boo. Just do what you do. He will get used to it.
