LOL I just made sure to keep wrapping it every night, and when it's not wrapped I had a satin pillow on deck LoL. First two weeks I kept my hair down, third week it was in a ponytail, and the last week I bunned it LoL

It got really itchy though. I had to take a rattail comb and get those spots smh

Hello curlfriends, I'm kinda late to this but I would like to start.
My name is Shay and I'm a second year grad student at SIUE getting my MS in Biology/Physiology. I transitioned for 7 months and BC's in July. I want to join this challenge because I have a serious HIH problem I'm to obsessed with my hair and it distracts from my every day life and also I want to grow healthy hair so putting it away needs to happen. I've just been rocking my for for the past month or so but I twisted the other day, I dunno how I feel about the look yet so I haven't gone outside 😔.

Gorgeous hair! And welcome to the challenge!

@Torrie705: I would love my hair to get long enough for me to donate, as well. I just wasn't sure that Locks of Love or other companies accepted tightly curly hair. I guess they do lol.

OAN: I'm getting so tired of twisting! I don't feel like putting my hair up this week...at all. I might go back to the Tightly Curly method, and find a few hairstyles in Curly Like Me that are protective to wear during the school week or something.

So, I finished my mini twists . I'm so excited lol. They're an embarrassment compared to the other mini twists on the site (lol) but it's just a testament to fine hairdom and something I have to work with. However, it motivates me to find 4 updos and wear them one week at a time to protect my ends. Win/win

Just "absentmindedly" tug at a curl&they'll see the length is all yours lol. Nah, just forget them. They'll think what they want either way. They can worry about whether your hair is real or fake, long or short while you're making A's in school lol.

I'm not looking forward to wearing my hair out though...people already think its fake. When they see the curls above my shoulders..
Oh well I guess

Lol I do this all the time in class. I'll wear an elongated, curly WnG one day, and after it shrinks up the next day, people look confused. When I flat twisted, my classmates thought I'd cut my hair. I made sure to "accidentally" leave 2 or 3 curls out of the twists so that I could pull at them during class.

Lol heck, two semesters ago I had locs and came to class the following week with pressed hair down my back. People have always accused my hair if being fake. I just chuckle and move on.

In ps news, I'll be doing some medium sized twists later today and wearing that until next wash day.

*shakes head* I think they're just confused by our multidimensional hair. What other hair type can go from BSL to SL in humidity in a matter of hours? Or be able to be ultra straight and sleek, but the next week be in a happy curly fro?

SN: I'm finally putting some twists in! They're going to be medium-small methinks. I'm not totally sure yet.
