Does anyone know of a hair salon in Jersey that does a good job with natural hair? I need to have my hair cut into a slyle that will look good when my hair is curly as well as when I straighten it. Or does anyone know of a cut style (bob?, layers? etc.) that will be good for both curly and straight styles, when straight my hair is just past my shoulder. Thanks so much!

The only place tha tI have gone to for natural hair is Strandz in Maplewood, NJ. I must warn you...it may take some time before they return your phone call, but onceyou make the first appointment, you should be fine as long as you book your next appointment before you leave the salon...otherwise...the wait starts all over again. But they are by far, the best in New Jersey that I hve seen. I have seen other peoples hair and I can tellyou...afte ryou leave this place, your hair will look like it was done professionally, I cant say that about a lot of other peoples hair that I have seen. And everyone at Strandz can do your hair so it doesn't matter who you get.

Im in nj and in desperate need of a natural hair salon. Not for frequent use but more so as a security blanket. Just to know I have one I "can" go to.

I just went to Jewels in South Orange (see my yelp review). Saw Lisa Williams and am VERY pleased with the cut. I didn't have her style it and she cut it after a wash and blow dry (note she did ask what I preferred a wet or dry cut). Was able to get an appt the same day and the shop is clean and professional (but not snooty). A little pricey for my pocket book (I generelaly get my hair done in the hood in NYC..... prices in NJ are not comparable) but for a good cut def. worth the cost. |
