Default Bleaching at home

So I just tried to bleach my hair at home. I followed all of the instructions and left it in for as long as they said (I do admit I didn't do the strand test though). It was supposed to come out honey blonde (at least that's what the side of the box said), but the color didn't really show up at all. Does anyone know why this happened?

Did you use a box color?

I just colored my Honey Blonde a week ago but it blended in too much with my skin tone and eyes. I was not feeling it and cut it yesterday. Felt like it washed me out

It was a box color. Did you use Dark and Lovely?

No, I have in the past but this time I used Silk Elements. So yours did not lighten at all. I have color many times and sometimes the color is less or more pronounced. I get nervous when I see the roots changing and was out. I know when I used to Henna it change the color I was going for.
