Default Can I bleach on top of fresh color

So I went to Sally's last week to get color for my hair. After speaking with the ladies there we decided it would be best to color my hair using the loreal (for dark hair) products. So I got soft brown and ginger blonde. However my hair is brown all over but I have been craving blonde. I went back today to ask what could I do to get it blonde, of course they said bleach..... So I'm looking for suggestions. Do u guys think it will be ok to bleach on top on this color? How much longer would you wait? Will bleach change my curl pattern? (the color did not change it). Also once I bleach to I have to keep bleaching my new growth to keep the color? Thanks in advance!!!! Wow we have identical situations. I went to Sallys today also with the same issue. Instead i already bleached my hair and put it on the roots first (total amatuer) about 6 weeks ago and put blonde on top. I looked crazy. So i put and ash brown on top to cover it up. Went back into day to get something to turn it ash blonde. Sallys told me to either bleach it again ( hecky no) or put a permanent over it. I chose the latter I also ggot a clear jazzing to mix with it. So either more bleach or aa permanent but no a semi or demi. Bleach is to harsh.

Wow! I'm glad to know I'm not alone! Well I believe I should have bleached first but I was trying to avoid that... So I ended up just coloring it but looks like bleach is where I'm headed to get the color I want.

I have bleach in my hair and it didn't change my curl pattern. I think you should speak to a colorist since you want to bleach colored hair. I'm sure they will give you the best advice. By the way, I love the brown on you.

I had my stylist color my hair a month ago. I was going for a golden blonde but my hair wouldn't lift. She put bleach on the areas that were still really dark and it did change my curl pattern. I had to do a really good protein dc to get my hair back to normal. Even then it took a couple of weeks.

How blonde are you trying to go because now your hair is already light. You could go with a high lift blonde permanent color. They are suppose to be formulated to lighten with out using bleach, but with that I would wait 2 weeks, and get a protein filler for your color to try to prevent damage from processing.

Thanks! I like it so much better than black. Do you use products specifically for colored hair?

I want a honey blonde but just in the front. I'll give that high lift color a try. Thanks
