Exclamation Natural in the Navy

Greetings ladies (and any natural gents),
I am an active duty Sailor and I've decided FINALLY to stop relaxing my hair. I have pretty thick hair and cut my relaxed, bra clasp-length hair about 9 months ago in to a bob. I then went about 5 months no relaxer and then I got WEAK! I had to have the creamy crack!!!!

I am now committed to no more relaxers not only for my health, but for my daughter. She's 2 and I want her to not even have to question whether to go natural when she gets older.

As I stated, I am an active duty Sailor. And I refuse to wear my hair not according to the regulations. I'm not really a fan of weave, wigs, or braids (like micros.)

I am considering a big chop this summer. My hubby supports my natural transition and although he doesnt like the idea of a TWA, he's deploying soon... chop, chop!

I want to know:
ARE THERE ANY ACTIVE DUTY NATURAL SAILORS AND HOW DO YOU STYLE YOUR HAIR?

I'm active duty Navy. I transitioned for 11 months before doing the chop. During my transitioning I kept my hair in cornrows with fake hair. They were not straight back but we were on deployment so I was able to get away with it. If it wasn't braided, it was in a simple bun. It was easier to keep it braided for 2 weeks than to have to mess with it.
After deployment, I BC'd. I rocked my twa until I couldn't rock it no more. My chief told me it was getting out of regs. That was about 6 months after the bc.
It was too short to bun properly so I rocked a curly puff until I could get it in a bun.
It'll be 4 years in April since I BC'd. I mainly rock buns, but I do occasionally wear twist outs or braid outs. Buns will be your best bet since that'll keep you in regs. Let me know if you have any more questions.
