I placed conditioner all over my hair and put on a plastic cap to deep condition and to help soften my hair. Then I washed it in the shower with ONLY conditioner and twisted it into four sections. Afterwords I applied my Giovanni direct leave in conditioner and evoo and twisted each section into smaller sections. I'm happy with the results and it was quick and easy. Isn't it great to have a go to! I remembered about another product we used to use- infusium 23 leave-in. So you know I had to put that back in my spray bottle. Hope your twist out turns out great.

1) Prepoo DCed overnight with my NH EVOO & Moringa DT (cocktailed with the leave in from that line, honey, EVOO, EVCO and GSO).
2) Cleansed scalp with diluted shampoo (Paula's Choice All Over Hair & Body).
3) Conditioned hair and scalp with Spa Haus Salon conditioner (from the dollar store lol).
4) Detangled with TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner and Denman D3.
5) Twisted with Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk and Curly Q's Red Velvet Moisturising Curl Cream and sealed with my EVOO and GSO mx.

My hair is only in about 12-14 fat twists right now, but they're wearable as a style methinks. I'll be wearing a TO on Thanksgiving and Skiaki

My water intake is still bad; I'm sick, so cold water is a no go, and I hate drinking it warm. I've had more tea than water of late

SN: Can you believe that November will be over in 12 days? What are y'all thinking about for the December challenge?
OMG if I did all the stuff you do to your hair I think I would...I couldn't lol. That's a lot! Does this routine work really well for your hair or do you change it up sometimes? What would happen to your hair if you did something basic?

I'm struggling :-( hopefully I'll be able the get better with that as the month comes to an end. Also do we have an idea as to what the challenge will be for December?

How about you do two French rolls going up in the back. And wear a twist out on the top or tuck and pin the two sections to make it protective... You can always use a scarf to spice it up. Here are some examples:

Or you can do a French roll in the back and a hump on the top, it's cute and protective!!!!

Lol you got this boo!!! Protect those ends!!!

Also, how do you detangle? I started finger detangling a few months back as I found that I lost a lot less hair, maybe that's an option...
Thanks. I love the head wrap look on every one else but every time I try to rock one I feel like I look like chiquita banana. I think its in my head though and I am just going to have to force myself to rock it one day. I like the last pic to, do you have a pic of the back on that one? I played around with 2 french rolls and it was definitely easier and neater than 1. I finger detangle mostly because I was losing so much hair combing, but I don't really think finger detangling is working and I'm about to give it up because I notice way more knots now then before and I think it's because I'm not getting all the shed hair out with just my fingers.

It seems like you use a lot of products. Do you have to remoisturize through out the week? and if so do you get a lot of build up? Also how often do you wash?

Do any of you guys Henna? I do and am overdo for a treatment but I don't have the time. I was thinking about doing a protein treatment in place of the henna, but idk. Have any of you done protein treatments and if so details please. I use a lot of protein in my hair and it likes it but I'm kinda scared that if I do a protein treatment it will be an overload. JMROOTS what you got in mind for December?!?!?!?!

Lmbo! I have fine strands with average-high porosity, so moisture is the name of the game for me!
Yes, it does work well for me. My scalp gets build up rather quickly, so cleansing it weekly is a must. I've DCed weekly for so long now that it's a habit; I do it overnight so that I'm not waiting around during the day. I just like to do that extra conditioning to add a bit more slip & moisture. And I cannot go a week without detangling - my hair will revolt lol. I could just use TN as my leave in, but I like trying new products, so SM & Curly Q's are my leave ins for now.

Changing it up for me most likely means a different cleanser (cowash, ACV, low poo, cleansing condish) or a new DC. Or, when I start to cowash exclusively, it'll only be DCing, cleansing, detangling & styling.

I have tried doing basic things - like cleansing & conditioning & then just spritzing with oil. It came out well, but because I don't detangle when I do a "basic" routine, it tangled by the end of the day, & I nearly wept trying to part my hair into sections. I've tried doing that whole Naptural85 thing with Terressentials & oils...my hair laughed at me & then cussed me out I like to detangle with my Denman (now on par with Satan in the curly world apparently), & that just doesn't lend itself well to using all natural products.

Sorry for the novel

I tried Henna once. I was so excited to do it because I heard so many good things and funny enough it was curly Nikki I saw and heard about it from. Well... I won't say never but I'm not planning on doing it again. I mixed it correctly and left it on for the suggested time and when I was washing it out I thought it would never come out. It was like I went to he beach and buried my head in the sand. It must have taken at least three days of washing my hair to get it out. I didn't experience the shine or moisture I heard about. As for the protein treatment, my hair loves them. I use Bio-protein. It comes in a small glass vial. I mix it with warm water and put it all over my hair with a plastic cap for at least an hour. I LOVE IT.

Where do you get it at and how often do you use it? I get Henna for African hair so it's finely sifted so that the rinse out process isn't so bad. Also you must must must follow it up with a moisturizing dc. It's not for everybody though, and in my recent laziness I don't know how much longer it will be for me.
