Just finished my braids. Tired. Feet hurting from standing n the mirror overall I like it. B the front of my hair is a softer texture so I can't get that sleek look because its so soft and just comes out the braids

I had my hair out in a puff yesterday. Wrong move as it was so COLD!!! So it's back to protective styles. As the days go on, I am more happy to put my hair in a PS for 7 days of the week now.

I was looking in my hair accessories drawer (I am not a Product Junkie. I am an Accessories Junkie )and I found magic clips. I think you call it EZ combs.
Amazon.com: EZ Combs COMBO Hair Styling Bands As Seen On TV - Caramel Bronze, Dazzling Silver, Sahara Sandalwood, and Classic Bermuda Black Combo: Beauty

At the back of the card it was attached to it had all these ideas.

I chose this one for today. I put my hair in a French twist and twisted the magic clip round the twist. I had a puffy bouffant at the top of my hair made by the dent from my stocking band when I did my puff yesterday. I'm really pleased with it! Haven't taken any pics yet....

Then I looked on YT and found trillions of ideas on how to use magic clips. There are so many PS that can be used on your hair using this thing! It's really good for days when you were too tired to do anything to your hair the previous night and you need to scrape/put it up into a PS in minutes.

Enjoy!

If you want to see a few naturals in action using the ez/magic combs have a look at these vids.

This one is a very informative introduction on how to use the combs. The styles at the end are semi protective but you can adapt them to be protective.
EZ Comb Styles/How to use the EZ Comb - YouTube

This one is good for those who have braids and want to pin their hair up. This lady has natural hair and shows a range of protective styles. If you like messy updos, then this is one for you.
Natural Hair: EZ Styles with EZ Combs - YouTube

This lady gives a range of protective hairstyles as well as using to make a bun.
At 1:58 she could have tucked it her ends in to make it a protective styles as she did at 3:16. And she could have twisted her ez/magic comb to make it look more interesting as well. (I always twist mine. I just think that leaving it plain makes it look a bit .... well...plain.
Style #21: EZ Comb Styles - YouTube

Also this one. Look from 4:09 for a protective style using these combs. Natural hair updo accessories(EZ comb, HairZing, Scunci Upzing, etc.) - YouTube

The video of this one is not very good quality!
EZ Comb Styles!!! - YouTube

Here is one showing how to do a puff.

I've been wearing chunky twists and a durag since Sandy hit. I've cowashed and deep conditioned with these twists in. Makes finger detangling easy.

hey, i was thinking that maybe two months was too long to have your hair braided up... did you moisturize your hair during the two months that it was braided up? or did you just let it be? that could be a possible explanation for the dryness. i would recommend a really good deep condition, you be great to add oils, coconut milk, greek yogurt or what ever you know your hair likes best. after that a good aloe ver spritz would be great, moisturize and seal with the butter of our choice. and let your hair rest, in either some two strnd twist or something like that. see if that helps, let me know how it goes.
