My faves are a fine frenzy, tune yards, band of horses, The black keys, damien rice, css, ingrid michaelson, sufjan stevens, joshua radin, and Tegan and sara. thats just to name a few. Do you get weird looks from people because of your taste in music? I do. When i was in h.s. i listened to nothing but hard rock, punk, in a little metal so the kids thought i was crazy. I just think life is more interesting when you have a large variety of music to listen too. I also like hip hop.

I love a fine frenzy and I just really got into the black keys. I really like Justin Nozuka, Howie Day, Ernie Halter, Josh Hoge, Marc Broussard, Norah Jones, Snow patrol, and David Ryan Harris. I really like discovering new music, the older I get the broader my tastes become also. I would have never listened to any of these artists when I was 18.Do you have any suggestions for new bands or artists?

Have you ever heard of SBTRKT? they're awesome. I would describe his sound as UK funk and dubstep. hes a producer and a dj, so he has different people singing over his beats. My fave songs are "something goes right", "pharoahs" and "wildfire" the remix ft. drake.
Another artist i would recommend listening to is M83 if you've never heard of them. My fave song right now from them is "midnight city"
My favorite band from last year is tune yards, Her voice is powerful. Listen to "Bizness" and tell me if you like it.This is the only song in the universe that i wish i made myself. the video is pretty awesome too.
CSS another band i love, they're from brazil. My fave song from them is "off the hook", Music is my hot hot sex, this month, day 10, Rat is dead, and left behind.
As you can see i can go on forever but i won't torture you. lol

Do I? I LOVE rock music. I LOVE indie. I love music. Period. I like some metal, not really punk rock, I don't mind screaming, but if I feel some type of way, I ain't gonna listen to the song. Love atreyu, underoath, as I lay dying. (This is not for everyone, haha).

I like all different types of indie, and I've recently fallen in love with Field Music (dunno how they came up with that name). I looooove Bon Iver and Portugal the Man. I could go on and on, but ill stop now.

I can't wait to see what bands everyone else likes. I'm gonna go to youtube, pull up a video, get a feel, and if my ears like what it hears, I'm going to have to download some new music!

Are you serious i love atreyu, As I lay dying and underoath. when i was in high school (3 yrs ago) that was all i listened too. My taste has matured some but i listen to atreyu like everyday especially when i'm working out. Whats your fave songs by them?

My favorite song of theirs (for now) is nevadas grace...closely followed by five vicodin chased with whatever that long ass title is.
While I love those bands, I listen to all types of things. I feel as though my taste for music is ever evolving and I'm always searching for new stuff (or old...I love me some motown era stuff). But I need one or all three of those bands (among others) in my life on a daily basis on the commute from work...in traffic, haha.

I listen to a LOT of different music, music is everything to me as cliche as that may sound. I get bored listening to the same kind of music all the time, i don't know how people do it. Right now i'm listening to the dixie chicks,but earlier i was rocking out to meatloaf and just before that i was listening to Guns n roses but this morning i was listening to drake. I have this joke that if my ipod was lost and someone found it they wouldn't be able to guess the race, gender, sex, age, etc based on my music choice. Well its a pink ipod so maybe sex. lol

Haha, I feel the same way about my ipod. I feel as though my choices shouldn't be limited by my sex, age, or ethnicity. Music is an expression of feelings as well as an art form. It would be a travesty to deny myself the thrill that comes with discovering a new song just because it isn't what people my age or ethnicity would listen to. Screw that, I'm too young to be conservative(in some things), haha.
