Wow.. that is an unfortunate thing to happen sounds like the polish they used could have been old or maybe the top wasn't places on securely. What I would do is ask to make an appointment when you get back in town or if you have a similar color you can take some polish remover with a cheap nail brush and smooth it out and reapply the color to get through the weekend. I'm a licensed manicurist so I understand how that can make you feel like all that time was wasted . HTH .
