No. I'm going to clean my locks with baking soda and a lilltle acv and try to find a good product to deep condition with. They've just been neglected by me since becoming pregnant. I still love them

Beautiful!!! Is it harder to maintain them since they're SO long? What do you do about buildup? How often do you moisturize? What do you use as shampoo and conditioner and moisturizer? Since they are fully mature do you use anything to help keep curls in?

Sorry I've been wanting to hear what products are used by other people w/mature sisterlocks. I need some pointers

Thanks!!! It's actually the opposite with longer locs I find that I can just spray with my homemade mist and go in the mornings. And bc of the length on lazy days I will just put them in a ponytail to the back or side with some cute earrings/gloss and GO! Last week I made a concoction with lotta body and my braid out lasted for 6 days. So in the mornings I would mist and run my fingers through.

The thing about this length is I'm no longer able to let it air dry anymore after a wash. If I wash at 9am by 9pm it's still wet! So I just bought a table top dryer and it only takes 35 min on high to dry:-)

I do:

Wash every 2 wks with Sally's version of Wen (this plus evoo are my only products) http://www.sallybeauty.com/on/demand...pid=SBS-737100

I recently had horrible dandruff (weather change ?) and used hubbys head and shoulders then oiled scalp w/ Evoo
I spray with Evoo, Sally's generic Wen, bottled water every morning
I oil scalp once every 2 wks
I find the cleaner my hair the faster it grows so I'm thinking about washing every week
My regimen is easy I'm not a PJ although it seems cool but I don't have time and I notice when I use multiple products I get more buildup
Retightened every 6 weeks

I don't:
Use rollers
Scarves at night (I should lol)

Here's a pic of bantu knots now I will post results in the am

Hope that helps! Good luck as your locs mature their journey:-)

Here are my baby girl's locs. She turned 7 on Saturday and is loving her locs more and more. She's even interested in styling them herself. I allow her to decide if she wants them pinned up or crinkled (as in these pics), etc. The first three are from lastnight - when I retwisted them last week, I braided them together and added some TW Crinkles something or other mouse/setting lotion; I finally took the braids out and they left some really pretty crinkles. The Final picture is from this morning before school - she decided she wanted to wear her hair down, no pins. Okay! She's MY loc inspiration ... I look forward to joining her on the journey!
