Looks like they're coming along. I'd definitely define what you want at this point to prevent exactly what you mentioned. A youtuber with tons of loc advice, who also free formed, is quotidianlight. She recently "popped" her locs (I.e. separated) but I believe is back to free forming. Another great person is Napzfaya. Quotidianlight is very informative.

Well I appreciate a second set of eyes giving me some kind of feedback, so thank you. I'm learning along the way myself.

Oh thank you for the recommendations! I will definitely be checking them out. So I guess I'm not totally free forming, but I'm totally okay with that..lol

I told a few folks in my 3D life that I'm locing, and for the most part people have been mostly neutral about it, and only one person who (nicely) told me they preferred the curls. I don't mind if folks give me their opinion, as long as it's done the right way. So far the hubby has also been supportive.. he's so sweet.

I can see the beginning of a few locs as well. I'm not free froming but I didn't see any buds until after the first month. As those locs you see forming become more compact, you will see and feel the knots/buds at the ends and some at the root.

Please continue to post because like Miss O I am amazed!

Thanks everyone! I really do appreciate the support. I'm feeling really confident even with my hair looking like it does right now, which is kind of all over the place. But the loc formation is happening so fast that I'm not even worried about it.. I'm somewhere in the middle between point A (starting locs) and point B (having actual locs). All that wild sleeping that I do is really moving things along.

Default Day 22

This is my hair today. There's more budding mainly in the back. The sides and front still need to catch up. I did try to move things along by palm rolling the loose hairs that hadn't started doing anything yet, but have left it alone since then. That was about 1.5 weeks ago, around the last time I posted here. I also did a deep condition which helped alleviate some dryness on my ends.

Thanks Msmiki..

Just noticed my non-crocheted hats are starting not to fit anymore. Oh well, that just gives me an excuse to make more hats instead.
