Hey CN lurkers and posters! I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to start a little thread here to keep track of my locing journey. I never thought I would ever do this, but after having an epiphany three days ago (on Three Kings day, no less), I decided to just leave my poor hair alone for once and for all, and to let nature take its course.

I don't know about you but when I see so many naturals talking about "combating" their hair, it really makes me sad. (What did your hair do to you that you have to go to war with it?) Well, I'm not fighting my hair anymore. I'm ready to be fully loced right now, but I know I just need to sit back and relax, enjoy the process as it happens.. so here's to the next year and seeing all that it will bring.

I'm onboard as well. I look forward to admiring your journey and being as supportive as possible. March will be a "do or die" time for me ... Will I stay loose or will I join the movement and loc? And NeeC1...come on, you know you wanna loc! (Like daughter, like mother, right?) Of course it's all your decision, but I'm gently urging you to the loc side.

So today I shampooed again, air dried, no oil, no extra anything.. Just letting it fly in the wind. My hair always dried quickly, but today must have been a record. I washed at 8:30am, and by 9:30 it was 100% dry already. It's super fluffy right now..I just have my very loose headband on. Don't wanna pull my edges off.

I think there is some matting starting in the back already. Glad the process is beginning so soon. All that time I spent detangling my hair was just fighting what my hair wanted to do on its own.

If I could go to the De Lux Salon in Brooklyn, I'd do it NOW! But, yeah, I'm getting that itch ... My baby wears hers so proudly. I need to post some updated pics of her locs. I'll probably retwist this weekend and do so.
