Hi Ladies;

I will be an offical "locer" tomorrow and I am nervous and excited (more excited than nervous though)... I did my BC on September 10th and during that time contemplated locing but decided to stick with the loose natural.

Well, well!! It has been a journey to say the least... I have no regrets about going natural don't get me wrong but as I left the TWA stage and entered the awkward length stage I no longer looked forward to "wash day". The 30-45 minute detangling sessions and then the 4-6 hour process of washing, deep conditioning and then twisting AND retwisting every night was not fun. I applaude the ladies that look forward to wash day and dealing with their hair for hours every week... I am lazy and it was not fun!!

I love the look of locs and how versatile they are once they get longer... the styles are beautiful.

I did a lot of research and found a place in the NYC area that I will be going to. Had my consultation this past Tuesday and I am confident in my stylist ability to help me successfully start my loc journey.

Congrats on your decision to loc. While I am not loc'd myself, I appreciate locs ... My baby girl (who'll be 7 next month) will reach her 6 months anny on the 16th. Time has flown and her hair/locs have grown SO much in this time. I'm contemplating locs as well... So, my baby girls serves as my loc inspiration!

Congrats to you! I understand where you're coming from 100%. I enjoy seeing all the loose naturals and their beautiful hair but locs are for me. I had them for 4 years...removed them because I wanted to try the loose look, but I miss them so much. I'm getting started with my second set next week and I can't wait!!!!

I done restarted so many times since being loose (about 8 months now). Once loc'd always loc'd lol. I said when I took them out I was without a doubt going back. I've had two sets (matured) so far. I'll be starting my third before the year is out. I told myself I'd give loose at least a year.
