I just bought some for the first time this past weekend and used it as a pre-poo/deep conditioner. I used a shampoo/conditioner (2 in 1) first just so my scalp would be clean and free of buildup then I saturated my hair and scalp with it (3tablespoons heated in microwave) then I put on a plastic shower cap for 5hrs lol I got busy then lazy smh...anyway I washed it out with a sulfate free shampoo then used a regular conditioner. That was Sunday and my head and scalp still feels great...shiny and moisturized 😉

Coconut oil is my favorite! I love the scent of it. I use it to seal. I also use it on my newborns hair and body.

I use it to "grease" my scalp. I use it seal my hair every now and then, but I almost always add it to my DC and henna. I pre poo and use it for hot oil treatments. I have been putting it on my son's hair since he was about 6 months (he is 19 months).

I use it as a pre-poo and I put it on my hair to keep it from getting dry while it is straightened. I also use it when I make lip balms lol.

Thanks so much you guys! Feel like I just learned a thing, or two, on the many uses of this stuff. Thus far, I use it in my pre-poo and I love it.

For those of you who mix it with other oils, I'd love your thoughts on an idea I'm pondering. Coconut oil can leave my hair hard no matter the season/climate. I'm thinking if melting some in the microwave and blending with EVOO to seal & moisturize my hair. I'm currently rocking two strand twists on one side of my hair, with flat twists on the other side. Takes forever to do this style but it's really cute & lasts for at least a week & a half. Once my hair needs to be re-moisturized, I'd like to spritz it with water then seal with the EVOO/coconut oil mixture.

Anyone have any thoughts? Has anyone tried it? Good idea or bad idea? Please share!

That sounds great to me. For me coconut oil is a summer oil. Any bit of coldness in the air and it makes my hair hard. I have two bottles of coconut mixes actually .
1) Vatika coconut oil & JBCO(pre-poo mix)
2) EVCO , EVOO, emu oil, vitamin E oil, castor oil, & sweet almond oil (scalp massage and sealing mix)

Hth :-)

I LOVE this combo! It detangles like a dream and leaves my kinky, coily hair super soft.

Thank you guys so much for the feedback. I decided to use this to seal after rehydrating a two strand twist/ flat twist style. I misted my hair with water & worked the CO in each twist then retested.

I wore a plastic cap for about an hour & once I took the cap off, my hair was like butter. I slept in a satin cap last night & still woke up with soft/buttery hair. I love JBCO for sealing but when I need to reseal between washes, this might be my go to. I was so excited that my hair never hardened with the application of CO, which it has in the past.

One more thing, I microwaved my CO before application, which may have been the key. Anywho, keep your uses coming. I'm learning a lot!
