Jojo do you heat and hold to make the cream or just whip the water in?

Before I was obsessed with hair I was a skin fanatic. Since the shift I haven't been as kind to my skin so last night I made up some products. 1) cleansing oil with jojoba, castor and cedar wood and tea tree e.oils. 2) toner with ACV, AVJ, witch hazel and frankincense essential oil. 3) moisturizer with jojoba, avocado oil and chamomile and frankincense e.oils. 4) exfoliate with honey and fine Dead Sea salt.

I also learned in my research of a cleansing oil that castor oil can be drying to the skin if too much is added and is often used for people with acne. I was trying to think of that in terms of its use in hair growth and hair care. It must astringe the follicles and stimulate them while smoothing the hair down bc it's acidic. It never made my scalp or edges dry. Wonder how that works...

I made a Leave-in conditioner because my hair is always soooo dry! And I don't think my hair like coconut oil and I swear coconut oil is in EVERYTHING 😤. Sorry for my moment. This works well for me though!

I'm making a Shea butter, hemp oil and almond oil mix today. Made a tea of bay, peppermint, cassia leaves, and nettle powder. Have that in one spray bottle, mixed it with some Yes to Carrots in another bottle, and with grape seed, almond, and castor oil in another bottle.

Hi there! I was planning to send you a message today!
I made 2 batches of creams this week, experimenting with oil and cream combos. I melted the butters oils and btms and let cool. The whipped cooled tea with immersion blender. Creams came out beautiful. But I want them creamier and richer. Should I add more btms or less water? Another thickener?

I'm new to creams so you are ahead of me there. I've only made a leave in and pudding with flax. Have you checked any of the suppliers? They usually have recipes and some have tutorials. I want to make a very thick water based cream with butters so that's why I asked you about it. The way I learned is that you heat the water and oils to same temp then combine and keep them at that temp for a little while then blend. This allows for better emulsion so it won't separate later

Hi ladies! One site to look for recipes is thesage.com. Check their site and blog.

I used the basic ratio that I learned from a YouTube video from Rickvanman. He was recommend from another mistress, Roots4u45. Check out her videos. She is wonderful.
For a cream, the basic ratio is 1c. oil,
1 oz. (2TB.) emulsifier, 1 c. water.
I will view Mountain Rose Herbs site for more information.
I will add water to oil and heat for a minute or 2 before blending to see how that works for me. I combine and melt all my products in double boiler.

I need to go to Dollar General for a lil mixer. I'm not putting shea butter near my KitchenAide, that stuff is so hard to clean off of everything. I miss mixing things. My hair is in kinky twists until Dec so I can wait. I'm going back to a local bss that is owned by an African family. Their shea butter is not over priced. I'm also going to order mango butter and avocado butter from a site suggested in another thread.
