I just got this as a gift but I'm not sure if it's henna or indigo or both of them mixed or even pure and also what is Vasma?

I would only use BAQ (body art quality) henna only. You don't know what is in these henna dyes. If you ever dye, bleach or use any other chemical you could have disastrous results. Stick with plain, pure henna. |

I looked up Veshma leaves and I read that they are indigo. You can't use indigo by itself. You have to henna and then indigo. The indigo has to be done soon after the henna to adhere and make it dark. Indigo is blue. If you try to do a one step process (mixing henna and indigo) you will get a brown and the color will fade somewhat. Indigo tends to fade/wash out. To have a longer lasting and dark color, you have to henna first, rinse a all that and then indigo. I think Mehandi.com has info on using indigo |

How long can you wait after applying henna to apply indigo? I need to do an amla treatment bc that henna relaxed my curls (this is my last time using henna). I want my jet black hair back. Debating on if I should use a dye or indigo at this point so frustrated w/ henna sooo not for me. Could I use cassia instead of henna before using indigo next time?

@Lilylily Thanks
I'm getting henna today. I think I'll do the two step process.Edit: I''m done with indigo. First time using it and I'm never using it again(maybe the two step process). It's so damn messy and rinsing it out was such a pain. Plus I didn't even get the desired result. The henna color turned out alright, but the color stayed the same even after using indigo. I think I did something wrong Sent from my GT-S5690 using CurlyNikki App Last edited by Meiyu; 01-04-2013 at 07:57 PM. |

I always do a henna indigo 2 step process. It works for me. Add only water to indigo and use it immediately after you rinse out your henna. Also, leave the indigo in for at least two hours for a deep black color.
