I am doing it for both. It looks like either way, longer is better. Ahh who knows. I'm just gonna do it and hope I don't fail.

I know how I get when I get frustrated with my hair...so I try to make it as little time consuming and stressful as possible. Is it a bad idea to do this overnight?

Mix your henna the night before you want to do it. That way it can reach dye release while you sleep. In the morning, I like to clarify my hair just before application. Wrap your wet detangled hair in a tshirt to soak up some water and then apply the henna. I only leave it on for 2 hours, 3 hours max and my new growth grays get covered in the 2 hours. So I don't spend the whole day doing a henna. If you have a bonnet dryer or heat treatment cap, you could sit with that on low. Make sure the henna does not dry out.

+1. If you do not want to sit under dryer, cover head with plastic cap and wrap with Saran wrap.

If you have been considering trying henna, but don't want to shell out the cash, I will be announcing a giveaway of some henna within the coming weeks on my facebook page: GeekyCurly.

I think people make henna more expensive than it should be. My mix is jamila henna, a cup of yogurt, water, and maybe an oil if Im just feelin like adding extra lol.

My henna came!! Yay!!! 200grams. Just need to find time to do it. Does anyone use honey in their henna treatments...does it mess up dye release?

I add honey to my henna just before I apply it to my hair - so it doesn't interfere with dye release at all. That's just my take.

I only add apple juice to my henna and it is incredible! The dye releases quickly, it's smooth, wasn't drying, easy rinse, and I only left it on for 3 hours. The color, easy detangling, and reduced shedding is amazing!
