Default Oils and henna

I just tried Henna for the first time and I will be doing so again! I "studied" for a week before trying it. I love the definition of my curls, and I don't hate the color, but I don't love it either. I read that oils can hinder dye uptake/release, and I'm not sure I would mind that. I'm just wondering if it will hinder all the other wonderful benefits of Henna! Does anyone know if I can use oils to get less color but the same conditioning properties? If not, I am probably going to try mixing indigo in with the henna in a few weeks. I used Jamila Henna, for the record.

I have also tried Henna on my hair last week. It is really so healthy for my scalp. Earlier than applying it, I had a big problem of dandruff. But now Henna eliminates dandruff from my hair.
