I like Pantene's Curly series DC. Its got a good amount of silicon and it makes any henna residue slip right out.

I use GVP's Conditioning Balm (Sally's version of Biolage's Conditioning Balm). It's super thick. I mix that with plain yogurt, agave nectar, and a few essential oils and leave it in as long as I can (until it starts to drip down my face due to body heat) without an added heat source. I place a few processing caps on, as well as my silk bonnet and let my body conduct heat.

It works great for me.

Do you do this after a henna treatment? Because the yogurt is protein and for some people the protein right after henna will make the hair hard.

The Jessicurl DC works wonders after henna. I've mixed indigo in a few times but prefer the two step because I have some grays to cover.

man I wish I had seen this before I did my first one last week! I thought my hair couldn't dry out. I was so wrong. since I didn't think my hair could become super dry I had to do extra overnight work to fix what happened. After the damage was fixed I am happy with the results! my hair sheds much less! I have long hair and it shed quite a bit. I didn't need more thickness but I got that anyway. I am trying a different henna this time just to see how it works. Good luck and thanks for posting this a least I can find a good deep conditioner for next time

What brand henna did you use before? Just curious.

Sorry. I'm just now seeing this. But I haven't had an issue with the yogurt and hard hair. My hair likes protein. I have a lot of products that have protein and I haven't noticed any problems.
