Default Henna and Indigo together?

What is the ratio of henna to indigo when the two are combined?

the ratio depends on the color you are trying to achieve. my natural color is a very dark brown and i wanted to cover the greys but not have them red from henna alone. i started out using a 50:50 ratio and then kept experimenting with ratios. i get my best, natural dark brown when i use a 30:70 ratio of henna:indigo.

Depends on whether you're trying to tone down the red from the henna or eliminate it entirely. There is a great FREE e-book that tells you everything you need to know about henna. I believe the website is mehandi.com. The author did her graduate thesis on Jenna.

I did the Henna and Indigo process this weekend and I LOVE it. I henna first, left in overnight, and did indigo this morning. I left the indigo in for 40 minutes. Results....deep black mahogany, grey coverage, curls thick, glossy and bouncy.

Default Henna and Indigo together?

No Sun-in over indigo! You'll risk going green if you try.

I'm guessing you did just indigo over your henna? That's a good way to go black. A mixture of henna + indigo together goes more brownish. How long did you wait after hennaing? Henna tends to be orange when it's brand-new, but calms down to a more brownish red after a few days.

Personally, I'd suggest letting it sit for a little while. Indigo's pretty notorious for washing out over time (but not for everyone). And in the future, use a henna/indigo blend on your roots if you want to stay that darker color.

I have been coloring my greys this way for over a year. I use 50/50 henna/indigo with 25 grams of amla and a dash of salt. This makes my grey a cool dark brown and the rest of my hair does not have the red tint.
No change in your curls with addition of AMLA
