Pretty well!! I washed it out and as the week goes by, the more I'm noticing stained spots. Hair feels great, BUT kind of dry, I've been DC-ing alot! It actually highlighted a lot of the light brown spotted areas in my hair. I'll do another in 3 more weeks!

Sounds great! Just make sure your co-wash and DC conditioners are protein free. The dryness should get better.

Ok so if I don't care about the color and only want conditioning I don't need the release? REALLY? I had no clue that's timed saved for sure. I don't have to keep it on long either? Are you guys sure? I feel dumb because I have wasted all of that time. I mean I don't mine color but my sole reason was conditioning and strengthening.

Also I am confused a bit on henna glosses. I tried it once but I'm not sure if I did it right. Do you mix the henna & whatever mix in ( I use green tea) let the due release and then add condish or do you mix it all at once then let it sit?

I usually make 100 grams of henna. I have some left over after my first application. I freeze the leftover and use it next time as a gloss. It is not enough for full application and don't want to waste it. Enjoy! |

If you only want to do henna glosses, here is what I did to make that easier. Do this way before you want to use it. Days, weeks even. 1. Go ahead and mix your henna. Keep the mix simple, 100 grams of henna, and enough brewed green tea or herbal tea to make a thick, thick paste. Think mud pies thick. Let the henna come to dye release, it can be light release cause you don't care about the color, right. 2. Place all the henna paste in a thick freezer bag. I use the quart size. Smooth the bag as flat as possible and squeeze the air out of the bag. Roll the bag and place it in another thick freezer bag. Label the bag with the contents and date. Then place it in the freezer. Another way would be to get a cheap ice cube tray to make henna cubes, I just like the bag method cause I don't have to defrost the flattened henna. And the henna does is less likely to get ice crystals or tant the taste of food in the freezer. 3. To use, take about a tablespoon or two of the frozen henna and mix it until smooth in about a 1/4 cup of your favorite protein free conditioner. How much conditioner you use depends on your hair length. You can mix something up if you want. This way you can henna gloss whenever you have time, keep the dc on for as long as you want. I'd keep it on for at least 30 minutes. Over time you will get color, but it will be gradual.

Next time try lightly oiling your freshly washed hair before you apply the henna. Use a light oil such as jojoba, almond, grapeseed. Pre-oiling is recommend for Ayurvedic treatments if dryness persists. Enjoy!
