Hi I'm a coarse 4a/b and I henna. Originally for the color deposit, but when that didn't happen I suspected and confirmed that my hair was resistant. Henna does softens my hair and loosens my curls though, so I continue to use it.

What was your hair's reaction to it?

Well from what i remember my first time, my curls loosened beautifully but my hair was a bit dry, but I read after henna your suppose to dc and rise many times. I didn't do that. lol. What kind do you buy and from where?

Yeah... Making sure all of the henna is rinsed out will take a few times and DCing helps quite a bit, but your hair could still end up dry. I've read in other threads that if you use too much lemon juice or other acidic liquid this will happen. And it does. Is this what you used? If so, I'm sure someone else could probably give you a different recipe to try with a less acidic ingredient. I've bought from two different online stores: Hennasooq and mehandi.

Hi, I'm not a 4 type but my hair is coarse and I use henna. I mix mine with coconut milk and honey and my hair has NEVER been dried out bc of it. Since I am coarse and low porosity I'm very prone to dryness so much so that I don't use protein anymore. But with this recipe I'm fine. I use Dulhan and I love it (I have also tried Jamila and Reshma but Dulhan is IT 4 me!)
