Default Becoming a vegetarian

OK so the other night my boyfriend and I decided to watch the documentary called "forks over knives". After watching this I quickly decided to practice being a vegetarian and eat only plant based foods. This film is very informing, and I encourage anyone to watch this if you want some more insight about the meat industry. I also encourage you to watch "the meat truth"(found on you tube). Are there any vegetarian curlies her on cn that can give me more advice, tips, and information about transitioning to be a vegetarian.

Any recipes would be useful to ladies.

I would say take your time and plan your meals. I ran into some trouble recently because I was just eating to be full but my meals weren't balanced. I eat like I live in a dorm lol. Can of spaghetti Os, chips and water. I started feeling really weak and sick. My doctor said it was because I hadn't been eating a sufficient amount of nutrients. She advised me to eat some organic meat until I am able to sufficiently balance my meals without it. I would say try weaning yourself off of meat. I quit cold turkey excuse the pun. And I think that's where I mess up.

(I became a vegetarian because of the horrible treatment of animals and the gross things put in the meat. I'm not a meat is murder person lol)

I get dang near ALL my recipes from allrecipes.com. they have a huge vegetarian section. It's awesome.

I know this was long. But I hope this helped.

I've been a vegetarian for 15 years. I do eat eggs & dairy so I'm not a vegan. I use Silk soy milk & the only dairy I eat is cheese & yogurt. I have always had low iron issues so I make sure to take my vitamins & eat plenty of dark leafy green veggies.

Try Morning Star products. They are pricy but you can get coupons for their products on their site. Also, Boca and Amy brands are really good. I also get PETA magazine which has delicious vegan recipes. I made a wonderful lasagna that was total vegan & mon-vegetarians loved it.
Good luck.

Gotta bring this post back to life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My pasta dish:

Ingredients:
firm tofu
3-5 tomatos
fresh basil leaves
one box of penne pasta
6 Italian Cheese
Parm cheese
balsamic vingarette dressing

Directions:
1.Drain the tofu, and cut it in small squares. Marinate it with balsamic vingarette for a few hours
2.cook the pasta per instruction on the box
3.lightly cook the tofu in some vegetable or olive oil for about 10 minutes in a frying pot
4. Cut about five basil leaves up, and the tomatoes
5. Combine the tofu, pasta, basil, tomatoes, and half of the bag of Italian cheese in a bowl.
6. Pour everything in a glass dish. Disperse the remainder of the Italian Cheese and some Parm cheese on the top to create a layer of cheese
7. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes, at about 325.
