Default Birth Control and Natural Hair....(nuva ring)

Hey. Ladies??
I'm worried that using the nuva ring will effect my hair and weight....today will be the first day I put it in...but I'm worried my hair will shed a lot!!! Does any one hair and thoughts...history...or facts about this ???? Or even better ways for me to care for my hair while using birth control????

Side note: I'm not currently having sex with anyone but if I do I just want to be prepared....do u think its worth me using nuva ring if I'm not having sex???

You may gain weight & your hair might grow faster because of the hormones. I'm not sure if this is the case with the nuva ring, just guessing

Also if you're not having sex the only other plus is that it can shorten and lighten your cycle

I've used the ring from 2003-2009 and I didn't gain weight nor did I experience any changes in my hair.

Main worries with nuva besides hair loss and weight gain is what it does to moods. When I was on it I lost weight to the point that I looked emaciated. I also became extremely angry and depressed on it. Everyone's body's diff, but I wouldn't do nuvaring...

I used the nuva ring and I loved it at first. THEN I had the heaving cough side effect. it was like my lung needed to leave my body the cough was so hard
as soon as I stopped taking it I was fine. only side effect I had but it was a really bad one.

I do not think it will effect you... The nuva ring is known to have a very low hormone dosage! The depo shot has the highest amount of hormones I believe! Good luck!
