Default Hypnobirthing!

I asked this question on the pregnancy thread but so far no responses. Thought more people might see it if I made a seperate thread for it. Anyone ever used hypnobirthing during delivery? Know anyone who has? What did you think about it?

Currently trying to conceive. I actually want to try it so I am waiting on responses. I heard a lot of people say their birth was managable. Couple of ladies on my forum have uses it.

Okay. That's what I'm hoping for, manageability. lol! I've actually been reading up more on hypnobabies which apparently is different from hypnobirthing. Hypnobabies is supposed to be more intense and has a higher success rate. It also offers a home study which would be super convenient. I'm due in December and I want to get started practicing some kind of technique NOW. The local hypnobirthing class doesn't start until late October!

I didn't use it during delivery but I used while I was pregnant and having mini-anxiety attacks over my homebirth. I found a couple of relaxation tracks on Amazon that I downloaded and they definitely helped!

Thanks! I'll have to see if I can find something on Amazon. I'd like to sample it before spending a bunch of money on the class.

I noticed you mentioned having a homebirth. Could you tell me your experience?? I'm considering it with this pregnancy and would love to know more about it.

It was wonderful! During my prenatals, I discussed everything that I wanted or was worried about with my midwife so there wouldn't be any issues during labor. When my contractions started to get closer together, I called my MW and she & her apprentice came over to set up all their stuff. Unfortunately, my son wasn't ready to come Earthside until the next night lol. My MW came back early the next day and stayed with me to see if it was the real deal and after 40 long hours, Mason was born on my bedroom floor Besides the time length, it was an easy and smooth labor/birth and I'm ready to do it again (except that my baby will only be 5 months tomorrow)!

I have 4 kids and all were natural births. My first 2 were hospital births using Lamaze. My last 2 we used the Bradley method and delivered at a birth center. My birthing experience using Lamaze was very difficult but being in the hospital may have increased the discomfort. Using the Bradley method was wonderful. I labored at home until it was close to "go time" and had my babies within an hour or 2. I like the method because it really teaches you and your partner how to respond to labor and understand the cues your body gives you during labor.

Feel free to pm me if you have questions.

Thank you! That is awesome!!! This will be my 3rd and with the first two I had an epidural. It had never even occurred to me that it could be done any other way. Too bad we can't get do overs. lol! I'm almost 30 weeks and I was planning to have my baby in the hospital but I have a birth plan written up. Lately I have been wondering if it would be better to do it at a birth center, I just hope it's not too late (not sure if hospital staff would respect all my wishes).

I did it with my last birth. It was very relaxing and I would do the sessions at home with my dula and husband. I went natural my last time but it did take an act of God lol. You got any specific questions pm and I can tell you all about it.
