My hair has a quite a good amount of fine strands. Not only that but I have low density hair!! Like four twist on my hair SHOULD look fat, but honestly, they utterly dont. I can't say, at most for myself, that products helped with the growing process for me. But styles that were low maintenance and finger detangling really did wonders for my hair!

i have very fine strands but A LOT of them, i mean my strands could give the population of china a run for its money (lol i'm kidding...kinda). but its completely possible to grow long hair just harder. you'll have to be patient cause every knot you'll have to stop and gently pull apart whereas coarser strands could probably tug and it'd unravel. thing that helped me the most was just leaving my hair alone for a week to two weeks, wash and repeat. seems boring and uncute, but i'd rather start being cute after i make mid-back length

I think my goal is bak hair with MLB tendencies lol. I do t want my hair to look sick and straggly at the ends just to have length. I would like to see more pics of us with long fine hair as well. I also have low porosity hair so I have to go through a process just to lift the follicles, then put everything in, then close the follicles... The things us lo-po, thin stranded, low/med density girls have to do. BUT I ADORE BEING ALL NATURAL.

I want my hair to reach waist length. Right now it is about 4 inches away. (Pulling it to it's actual length, 4 inches). I do hope I reach it, but I know bsl, is reachable I believe

This is when I tried the "african binding" technique to stretch my hair. You can tell by this picture I have fine hair. But it's down to bsl.

This my hair currently in mini twists. I do twist outs with the mini twists to make it look fuller.

This is how it looks in the back.

the older the hair, the more moisture, protein, protection, etc. it needs. so once it feels like it's not gaining length, you need a new retention regimen, bcuz your current regimen might work for getting apl, but not enough to get to bsl. I know some think its not important to over do maintaining it, but it just depends. Fine hair has to work harder. Longhairdontcare2011, hair crush, and even kimmaytube, have full hair. So our journey to long lengths may have to go down a different road than theirs to obtain it.

I also recommend the site: natural haven bloom. It's scientific facts about hair by a natural women who is a tricologist. (Hair scientist) The site is factual and informational. And knowing facts about hair and products (as far as their function) help me know what I should do and not do personally for my fine hair. I don't recommend just reading and doing it, just bcuz they are tested facts. But understand it in comparison to your hair and make your own decisions and judgements. I hope this helps.

All things are possible to those who believe. It's not really about growth but retention. There are some naturals who maintain their hair like queens and others who put it through the ringer. I believe that protective styles and low maintenance are key. I leave my hair alone for at least 6-14 days at a time. I notice growth a lot more often. I am rather thin-haired (but still dense) so I use products that thicken and I do protein treatments.

I say let's enjoy the journey and believe for HIP length hair. Now THAT would be something. I would def. be whipping my hair back and forth.
