Okay, so I tried a little modified version of her wash n go- I used leave in conditioner though. I think for my hair length (6-8 inches) and fine, thinnish-normal hair, using really chunky twists doesn't work. It left my hair looking kinda piecey and scalpy. I ended up having to use this Curl Junkie stuff to fluff it out and make the parts that weren't really curled curl.

I kinda see where is she is going with the wng thing becasue at one point i did my wngos like that. It stertches the curls so you dont have shrunken hair. IMO if she had combed out ther coils to manipulate it into the curl pattern of the twists then it s a twist out but she left her curls in tact and simply loosely twisted it to keep them stretched. That is her curl pattern and therefore a wash and go. Also she did not use product becasue from what I"ve herad that mud wash is sum from the Gods and the users claim that they dont need it.

Her hair was bomb before the mudwash. It's bomb after. I don't care how many products I use or DON'T use, my hair isn't gonna look like that. And that's ok. One, we don't have the same texture or density. Also, she is of Carribean descent which imo contributes to the shine and luster her hair naturally has. My point is, I feel like people chase after what they see other people doing and then get disappointed when they don't get the same results. I think we should all just figure out what works with our hair and love that.
This is me all day chasing after what they see other people doing because I tried the technique in her video after this one about maintaining the style and I looked a hot mess. It was then that I realized that I have to stop watching these videos and thinking that every style is going to work for me. She does have nice shiny hair...I'm not so sure that has anything to do with the fact that she is from the Caribbean because I've seen lots of people of Caribbean descent with not so shiny hair and many African Americans with shiny hair...my mom is not Carribbean and she has shiny hair...I don't know why that gene wasn't passed on to me.

But yeah, I get your overall point though and I totally agree. I'm getting to a place where I just accept that my hair just ain't going to do like ev'rybody eles's.

It's beats the hell of globbing on curl defining products from 10-30+ minutes AFTER washing the hair. Just being honest #ioncurr *shrug*

That's what i love even more about Naptural85. Cause like her, i also keep it very simple when it comes to products & handling of hair. I love that she doesn't have to rely on curl defining products & still get beautiful results/hair styles.

Sometimes I get depressed watching Naptural85's videos, because her hair looks amazing no matter what she does with it! I don't know if my hair will ever get to that point...but it is more controlled after trying clays. I just don't have as many fly away hairs and what I call "root fuzzies."

Her hair is gorgeous! However I cannot use a lot of her methods because of my fine to medium texture. If I had a more dense hair type, I probably would follow some of her regimen.

What do you mean? Like her detangling, etc.?

Like some of her recipes and stuff. Detangling is never an issue with my texture. It's finding the right stuff that doesn't weigh my hair down or strip it to moisturize and style it. That's what I have issues with. I can't use a lot of stuff like she can. She has that texture that you can do just about anything to and her hair will just embrace it and shine. My hair is funny acting and will frizz like a piece of steelwool.
