I use Blue Magic grease w/water for twist outs on occasion. I like the stuff and so does my hair. My hair is super soft, shiny, bouncy, and the style lasts for at least 5 days. I must add though that I do not use petroleum or mineral oil products on my scalp. My hair? Yep, sure do!

Does it have any mineral oil in the ingredients or cones? Does it also prevent you from itching your scalp?

I use a moisturizing sulfate shampoo as my staple. When I prepoo with a silicone serum (to melt the tangles of a twist out), I have to shampoo twice to get it all out.

Or you can let the shampoo sit for a few minutes before you rinse it out. That way, you will only need to shampoo once. This makes for an extremely long shower, if you DT and detangle as well.
Hmm, well I'll try it this weekend coming up to see if it takes too long or not.

Add on to my other post: I only use this as an ultra-sealant..I don't use it on my scalp + rarely even oil my scalp period. It has helped me while living in the humid, swamp like conditions of Southern Louisiana.

I've been using it all my life. Idc what anybody says about it being bad. I used to use Blue Magic but now I use BB SuperGro with vitamin E and TCB naturals Olive Oil (smells wonderful). I use the BB when I have braids and TCB when I have my hair straightened.

I don't really remember using grease that much. I think I started trying to use it in middle school when my friends would be like "You don't grease your scalp?" And I would have flakes in my hair sometimes. It wasn't really something I grew up with... I don't ever remember my mom using grease in my hair, I'm pretty sure I learned it from girls in my school, but even then I didn't like using it, and it always made my hair extra greasy/oily. I think that relaxers made my scalp dry, because I started seeing little to no flakes when I started stretching my relaxers, but then again, I also started using oil on my scalp, and I liked that a lot better than grease.
