@ Aynnit I'm glad that some parts of my regimen were able to help you. Sounds like you've got a good plan

Yea I mean its just at the point now where feel my only option to manage my hair is either a haircut, a perm (not really an option), or to go straighter. I rocked the fro for 2.5 years now and it was fun but now I am less focused on curl definition and having perfect, uniform curls and more on manageability. In all my pictures as a young kid with hair down to my butt there are no pics of my hair in wng style. Now I know why. My mom kept my hair either braided, Hot combed, or blown out. I just think my hair might thrive better this way from bsl on. And Ill be WAY more careful than she was lol

I'm newly natural and I wear my hair straight, I have a short bob. I'm still trying to figure out what products work for my hair. I've been using WEN products and they work very well, however they are expensive and I need an alternative. I've tried Carol's Daughter which works well but here again it's expensive. So what do you ladies suggest as far as a deep conditioner and heat protectant? Also what would be a good protein treatment for my hair, its soft and curly, but my ends ate dry, but mot split. I don't understand all the terms as if yet so please excuse my ignorance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what your budget is but Shea Moisture is a good line to start with. They have shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners and moisturizers. Aphogee (they have a 2 minute product and a more hardcore 2 step product) is available at Sally's for protein. I just recently used Twisted Sista Blow Drying Creme to blow dry my hair. I didn't need to reapply anything to flat iron. Love it and will be repurchasing after I use my sample.

Hope that helps!

Nubian Heritage Black Seed & Honey Heat Protectant line is found at Walgreens. I use the shampoo, leave-in cream, and heat protectant spray whenever I heat style my hair. It is a little more expensive than Shea Moisture BUT I buy when they go on BOGO free at Walgreens. Their products smell so good to me and they work well.

This sounds like a great method! Quick question. How do you keep your hair moisturized when its blowdried. My hair tends to be on the dry side and when I moisturize with oil it just coats the hair.

^ see for me oiling my ends daily works.Using a moisturizer doesn't. I just apply a little warm oil (coconut or africa's best) to my ends and I'm good. Maybe someone who uses a moisturizer will chime in...

You might want to use a water based moisturizer then use a small amount of oil to seal in the moisturizer.

Thats another question I had. If my hair is flat ironed, wouldnt water based products revert it to curls again? I was scared to use my moisturizers so I just used coconut oil and shea butter.

I was able to use my water based products a lil dab on the ends & smooth em down. And I always sealed with coconut oil afterwards.
