Default Fine curls, kinky ends...how did that happen?

I noticed after my big chop (transitioned for 2yrs) that I have multiple textures of hair. The back is spiral curly-like (ball point pen width), small section on the sides are kinky or frizzy (haven't quite figured it out yet), and the top & middle sections are loose and wavy (great combination...i know). But one thing I notice throughout my whole head is that my ends are very thick & kinky and for the life of me and can't figure out why!! Is that just the texture of my ends? Am I doing something wrong? I tried to trim them but they just kink right back up. Having multiple textures is so frustrating, I can't lie. I got my hair twisted cause I'm tired of looking at it. As horrible as that sounds, having kinky ends make it just that much harder to detangle. Any suggestions of what I can do or what might be going on?

Thank you,

Hmmm what do you mean by kinky? Are they dry and just frizzy or something else?

They're tightly coiled at the ends. I try to keep all of my hair moisturized but idk if I'm just not doing it enough or what.

Hmmm that sounds like that's just your hair. Keep it moisturized and you should be fine. Do you notice any split ends?

That's just your hair, mine is the same way but it took me wacking over an inch off to realize that my ends just don't end. There is no damage, they are just thick and bushy. I've grown to love them because it makes it super easy to twist or braid my hair. You just have to keep them very moisturized and be sure to seal them because they will pop or strain if you don't. The kinkier the hair, the more fragile. Sounds weird but it's one of the things I've learned along my journey. Hth ;-)

@ Tiny_Gabby no, no split ends.

Thank you ladies! Just something I'm gonna have to get used to.

You will learn after your big chop that your hair has its own personality and will act accordingly...its fine once you have routine your ends will calm down a bit..

I've found that when my hair is well moisturized it's more curly, not less... it's possible your hair may just be at optimum moisture levels.
