Finally!! BC Story

After 5 1/2 GRUELING months of dealing with 2 textures, I woke up randomly at 4 a.m (mountain standard time) and decided that enough was enough. I BIG CHOPPED!!! I took a pair of scissors to my head without thinking twice, and it happened. Boy, did it happen VERY fast. Before I knew it, there was a pile of hair on the floor and I was staring at myself, admiring myself for a job well done.

The next day... I cried. I cried and cried and cried thinking "WHAT HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF!!" I was so distraught about the whole thing thinking that I needed to relax my hair. It's too short, yadda yadda yadda. I was inconsolable. My significant other had to remind me of why I was doing this and he was telling me to look at the big picture and to think about myself 3 years down the road. But ladies, I wasn't having that.

Today, though, I looked at myself and didn't cry. I finally saw myself for who I really was. A strong, beautiful, NATURAL woman. I now understand WHY I chose to become natural. It's not just for long hair or for healthy hair. It was to figure out who I was. I'm not saying that my hair is my identity. I'm saying that this is the way I was created to be. God did not make any mistakes when He created me. This was the way He intended me to be.
