I had been through a lot for a few years and in 2001 I decided my hair was holding negative energy because it had been with me through it all so I chopped it all off. I've slipped back twice since then once for my wedding in 2004 but at my one year anniversary I had a twa. And again after I had my first son in 2007 but in less than a year I bc again. The second and third time I went back to natural because I missed the feel of my curls. And actually I enjoyed the feeling of no hair on my neck.

My last relaxer was suppose to be last november, but i was still in that eh mood of wanting relaxers or not. so i went ahead and relaxed it in march, even knowing i didnt have much new growth. like a month before the last relaxer, i randomly decided i wanted longer hair, cuz before february, for like a yr.. i stopped worrying about my hair and taking care of it. But i got back into it to see if i could find anything about growing my hair long. When i relaxed i was even thinking of stretching my relaxers to every 6 months.. maybe even a yr. So i relaxed my hair, and took care of it like i knew how to take care of it. i straightened my hair for 3 months, and there was one wk where i didnt straighten it, gave it a break.. idr if it was in june or may i watched xlovedivines video on how to grow ur hair. then i went to another vid and she said it was her natural hair.. i was like O: thats it im not gonna relax my hair again. And the whole summer i didnt straighten my hair, and i noticed a huge diff. My hair was fuller and felt more healthier for once. Now i learned and still learning on how to take care of my natural hair
lol it's long but wanted to share that part. im still wanting long hair btw, but i gotta grow out my natural hair first. im thinking its gonna take 2 1/2 yrs to get the length i want lolAlso after a yr 1/2 after having relaxers in, i got tired of straight hair, and 2 yrs after relaxers, i was really thinking if i should let go of relaxers or not. but then i wasnt rdy or knew how to let go of it. ive been on relaxers for over 3 yrs and if i wouldve gotten a relaxer a couple months ago it woulve been 4 yrs of having relaxed hair.. so yeah that's all i gotta say now

After going natural twice, getting a perm after each time, and seeing how much my hair did not thrive. I decided to give the perms up. This is my third time going natural and perms have always been my main setback.

I have many reasons that I can make four posts! Lol!
Before my last relaxer in May, I thought about stopping relaxing after a comment my mother made. My mother suggested that I start relaxing my hair every four weeks. I don't have money to visit salons so my mother is the one who relaxes my hair. Every time she relaxed my hair in the past, she puts the relaxer not only on the new growth but also my previous relaxed hair. Mind you, she would use ALL of the relaxer that came in kit on my head. And my hair was barely chin length! She believes previously straight hair becomes "nappy" too when you have new growth. I tried telling her she was damaging and hindering the growth of my, hers, my two sisters`hair with the overlapping. And relaxed hair does not reveret back. Her response: "I know more about hair than you do. And your hair can't grow beyond the point it is now" I knew at the point I couldn't let her continue to relax my hair. After that I decided to either go natural or start going to a salon to be relaxed. I went to a salon for my last relaxer in May. I also had my hair cut into a pixie (another practice my mom doesn't believe in, cutting or trimming hair). While I loved my short hair, I wasn't a fan of needing to flat iron it every other day to keep the style. A couple months later, I decided to transition and go natural.

My hair was long but thinning. I hate stringy hair.

I remember those stinging feelings of perm and having to wake up to flat iron my hair back down. And don't get me started on those edges I had
